My summer has been filled with much activity. Some of it very fun – like getting teams ready to travel and teach children. Other activities – not so much. Things like dealing with medical issues, aging parents, etc. But I have been able to remain joyful (at least most of the time) in doing all of these things.
Tomorrow morning, bright and early, Courtney and I will head to the airport and begin the 30+ hours of travel to SE Asia. At times my living room looked like a tornado had hit it with all the items being purchased, sorted, inventoried and finally ending up in a suitcase. Now things are coming to the end of the pre conference details and we are heading to the finish line of one phase and the starting line of the next.
So far this summer, 2 teams have left through CLUB 4th. And like a parent sending their child off from home for the first time, hoping that you have trained them well, there are many emotions that come with this sending off of the teams. The Ohio team went and had many changes just weeks prior to the trip. The Lord was so gracious in giving them a wonderful trip ministering to the kids and their families. The comments coming back from that trip so far have been very positive.
The Colorado team left this morning minus one of their team members due to a health issue. This changes things and yet God was very clear that this team member was to stay put. Hard to understand why and yet God’s ways are not our ways. His ways are much higher (Isaiah 55:8-9). Please be in prayer for this team as they make adjustments that this brings to the team. Also pray for some of those attending the conference – the flu bug has struck some of them. This is not a good thing right before a conference as it takes time to “run” through the family!
The Pacific Islands team leaves very early tomorrow. Some of the team members are already over there and looking for a few things, making arrangements for transportation, etc. One of the team members, a teacher there, left yesterday. There were two who joined the team late and will arrive on the 26th. We will all be together at that point. I am very excited to see what God does through this team of various talents and abilities.
I do not know how often I will be able to post updates while I am away. I hope to post at least a couple of times – pictures if nothing else! So until then – here is something to mediate on and pray for the teams that are currently on their way:Seek the LORD while he may be found; Call upon Him while he is near; Let the wicked forsake his way nad the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the LORD, that he may have compassion on him and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. For My thought are not your thoughts, neither are you ways My ways, declared the LORD For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.” (Isaiah 55 6-9)
