Monday morning, Caleb needed to do a long run – the distance was to be picked by him as part of his training for Cross Country.  He decided he wanted to run for 2 hours or 13 miles – whichever came first!  So I asked Cousin Jeff for a route.  He thought for about 10 seconds before he had a route for us to take.  So early Monday morning we were out the door for the run.  It was great to be outside – however I have now realized how good of shape he is in and was consistently about a half mile behind him!  We finished the run  and in 2 hours Caleb completed 13.5 miles and I did 12!

Once everything was loaded, we headed to J. Cook .  This was totally a boy’s paradise – rocks to climb, woods and a river!  Garrett and Geoffrey seemed to be at home as they climbed rocks, as you can see from these pictures;

Boys will be Boys!

Wondering what is on Geoff's mind???

There was one tree which was sideways and all of the boys had to climb this particular tree and hang from it!  Can someone tell me why this is so attractive to boys – of all ages????

Caleb set the standard as the first tree climber!

Geoffrey took a bit of convincing to try this - but he did enjoy it!

They even talked Gary into climbing!

Garrett really enjoyed being on the rocks, in the woods and near the river.  But more than anything, he had fun taking pictures.  It is getting harder to tell which pictures are his and which are mine!  He has a very good eye and he amazes me at how he can capture motion.  Just look at the Kayak picture he took – it is amazing.

Garrett was pretty proud of this one!

It was great to have some time as a family and have some fun!  We all enjoyed the trip so much we would love to go back again this fall and experience the “gorgeous” fall colors.  It was a great break before school started!

Now back to the rigors of the school routine – hard adjustments for all of us!
