Team picture

Some specifics;

6 are returning to Pearlington

9 are going for their first trip to Pearlington

4 have been on Missions trips overseas

8 are going on their first Ministry trip ever

8 Men; 7 Women

12 Teens (or almost teens – Geoffrey is only 10); 3 Adults

2 churches are represented – Bethlehem Baptist Church, Minneapolis, MN and Morningside Baptist Church, Sioux City, IA

All Love Jesus and can’t wait to go.

The team worked well together and became very close.  It was fun to watch the kids and adults play games, work and cook together during the week.  Once the menu and cooking teams were posted, things went relatively smoothly.  The kids took a lot of initiative to get things done and very few reminders were needed.

By the end of the week, it was hard for them to say good – bye.  Geoffrey provided the comic relief and became everyone’s little brother.  Anna the oldest of the teens, took on a lot of leadership and organized many of the activities.

I love these young women.  They have great character qualities and love the Lord.  It was such a privilege to be a “mom” to them for the week.  They made my “job” so easy.  I would take any of them with me again!  I miss them a great deal – and this comes from someone who said she never wanted to take a group of youth on a trip!  I am so glad that God had other plans!  If all youth had the same qualities as these young women,  I would not even bat an eyelash at taking youth with me on a trip!

We assigned everyone a number and every time we got into the van we would count off to make sure everyone was present – It works well and we never misplaced any of the kids – or adults for that matter!
