We have ended our school year and have entered into summer session.  As I reflect back on the year,  it was fun and some major milestones were reached this year.

Giovanna started reading and performed a play at school for the ESL class.  She has come a long way this year.  We are excited to see her progress this year after an almost 2 year plateau. I have a video of her doing her play – but it is a bit long to post here.  I will need to figure out some editing s/w before I can post – so for now, here is a picture from her “performance”;

For History we were studying the Ancient World.  The study of Greek Military tactics spurred much creativity –

The Exodus and Passover:

We also studied the Exodus from Egypt and had our own Passover Seder.  The kids made all the food and worked hard at making it as real as possible.  Since we had our Seder in November – we did not eat outside!

It was a very good year and while I am exhausted from all the teaching, grading and planning – I am so thankful for the other families that we met with every Friday for History discussions and projects.  I am excited about next year and the Medieval feast we are planning.  Costumes are in the works this summer!  More fun pictures to look forward to.
