Spring seems to arrived but is not sure it will stay – at least not yet. It was warm early in the week and then cooled off. Friday the first day of spring was cloudy and rainy here – but today is beautiful!
We can tell that spring has arrived due to the fact that the snow is gone and I am ready to run again! However with a knee injury, I will be side lined for at least a week while I recover.
The other way we know it is spring – the Ayers annual Spring Egg Hunt! A wise woman told me years ago that when her kids were small, she did an egg hunt on the first day of spring rather than at Easter time. What a blessing this has been to our family and the kids look forward to it every year – including my 17 year old!
Gary hid the eggs this year and the kids had trouble finding them. This year each child had 9 eggs to find, each filled with candy or other small useful things like headbands for the girls! They love looking for them, but need to work on their observation skills – Gary did a good job hiding the eggs this year!
Giovanna’s birthday was on Thursday and she got a giant bubble wand. Today was the day to try it out. The kids had fun with it – even the dog joined in on the fun.
The dog had fun trying to “catch” the bubbles – she was chasing them all over the drive way!
All in all it was a great way to welcome Spring!
