Geoffrey had a big week last week. First on Tuesday he had his first “solo” recital – along with the other students from Strings of Hope. He played Allegro by Suzuki which is his favorite piece! He had a great time.
Geoffrey was also playing Basketball on a league here in the city. His team was the Hoosiers and they were pretty good. At the fourth grade level, they have playoffs and because the team’s record was the second best in the age group, they received a bye for the first round. Playoff action began on Saturday at noon and they won – 38-11.
Next game – semi final round at 8:AM Sunday Morning. He was so ready for this game and made sure that I got him to the civic center on time for the warm up. The Scoreboard tells the story well of this game
The champion ship game was played at 10 AM against the only team that the Hoosiers lost to during the regular season. They lost that game by one point and in the last minute of the game. This game was close and they came within 1 point again and ended up losing by 3 points.
Geoffrey had great coaches this season and they worked hard at making sure all the boys learned the fundamentals of the game. Geoffrey loved playing for his coaches and he played hard at all of his games.
Geoffrey went into the tournament to play and win – and he did!
Geoffrey we are proud of the way you hung in there right to the end. You had a great season and we look forward to next season!
